MJ Allen installs 2nd Heller machine for Ford

MJ ALLEN INSTALLS IT'S SECOND HELLER FOR FORD AWD TRANSIT PROJECT

Premiered at the 2007 Hanover Commercial Vehicle Show, the new Ford Transit with MJ Allen/County designed All-Wheel-Drive transmission is NOW available from Ford.

Several components, including the AWD transmission housing, are cast and machined at M J Allen prompting the delivery in 2009 of a second new Heller MCi 16 horizontal machining centre.

The AWD system has been conceived and designed by Eric May, Engineering Director at Countytrac, itself a subsidiary of the M J Allen Group.

Group MD, Tim Allen, said “It has been an exciting but complex process to bring this project to fruition. Our engineers have worked in close collaboration with Ford’s own engineers to complete all the development, prototyping and testing, which is the same as for any new vehicle. We are now in full production”.
